Our MentorMr. Richards, our mentor, has taught Business and Technology at Stockbridge Jr/Sr High School in Michigan for the past 17 years. In 2010, he formed his school’s first Underwater Robotics Team and competed in the Great Lakes Regional MATE ROV competition and won. The team then traveled to the 2010 MATE International ROV competition in Hilo, Hawaii. Inspired by the success of engaging his students in authentic
project-based learning, Mr. Richards developed an underwater robotics elective class. In this class, students work in a student-led project based learning environment where they utilize STEM, business, ROV, and marine technologies. |
